Privacy Policy

Protergates is a reading site. You can read every article without creating an account, signing in, or giving us any personal information. This policy explains the small amount of technical information involved in serving the site to you.
Information we collect
Server logs. Like almost every website, our web server automatically records basic technical details about each request: your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, your browser type, and the page that referred you. We use these logs only to keep the site running, diagnose errors, and protect it against abuse. We do not use them to build profiles of readers.
Information you send us. If you use our contact form or apply for a role, we receive what you enter: your name, email address and message, and for applications your CV and any links you add. We use it only to reply to you or to assess your application, and we delete applications that do not lead to a role within 12 months.
Nothing else. We do not run advertising, we do not use analytics or tracking cookies, and we do not sell, rent or share personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
Cookies
Protergates does not set cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy before it does.
Third party services
No third party scripts or fonts. Our pages do not load scripts, fonts or other resources from third party services.
Links to other sites. Our articles link to sources and other websites. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies.
How long we keep logs
Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, and are then deleted.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how it is used. Because we do not ask for names, emails or accounts, the only information we could hold is in server logs. To make a request, use our contact form and choose "Privacy request". Children
Protergates is a general audience site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
