This Privacy Policy explains how Quad (“we”, “us”), operating under protergates.com, collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use the Quad app and the Quad for Business portal (the “Service”).

• Account information — your name, username, email address (including your university email for students), and, for businesses, your organisation name and contact details. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.
• Profile and content — details you add such as university, faculty, programme, bio, avatar, GPA and posts, and any listings or events you submit.
• Verification data — the student ID image you upload for verification, used solely to confirm your student status.
• Usage data — activity such as posts, connections, and interactions, and basic technical data needed to operate the Service.

2. How we use your information

• to create and manage your account and verify student status;
• to operate core features — profiles, posts, connections, events, and business listings;
• to review and moderate content, verifications and listings for safety and quality;
• to keep the Service secure and prevent abuse;
• to communicate important updates about the Service.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. Information you choose to make public (such as your profile and posts) is visible to other users according to your privacy settings. We share data with service providers who host and operate the Service on our behalf (for example, our cloud hosting and authentication providers), under appropriate confidentiality obligations, and where required by law.

4. Your choices and rights

You can view and edit your profile in the app, set your account to private, and delete your account at any time. 5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Verification images are retained only as long as necessary to confirm your status and are removed thereafter. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 16 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone below that age.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
